Orthodoxy

The St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedra in Nice is the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe. It was consecrated in December 1912 in memory of Nicholas Alexandrovich, Tsarevich of Russia, who died in Nice. Built in the style typical for 16th century churches of Moscow and Yaroslavl, the cathedral has five domes.

Colorful stones, bricks and ceramics were used for the finishing of the  façade  On top of the green tiled onion domes are gilded crosses. Windows that are decorated with a tin-glazed pottery called majolica , not to forget a mosaic of the Holy Face of Christ.
